Ekaterina Levental werd geboren in Tasjkent, de hoofdstad van Oezbekistan, een der republieken van de voormalige Sovjet Unie. In 1998 sloot Ekaterina met succes de opleiding Docerend Musicus Harp af aan het Conservatorium te Enschede bij Alex Bonnet. Ekaterina volgde masterclasses en cursussen in Nederland en in het buitenland bij belangrijke docenten als Isabelle Moretti, Susanna Mildonian en Elisabeth Fontain-Binoche. Tussen 1996 en 1999 was zij prijswinnares tijdens concours Stichting Jong Muziektalent Nederland, het tweede Nederlandse Harpconcours.en het Meester/Gezel-concours in Haaksbergen. Als soliste trad Ekaterina op in de bekende concertzalen in Nederland zoals het Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Muziekcentrum Vredenburg (Utrecht), De Doelen (Rotterdam), de Oosterpoort (Groningen), het Muziekcentrum te Enschede en Muziekcentrum Frits Philips te Eindhoven. In juni 2001 studeerde zij af voor haar tweede fase opleiding harp aan het Rotterdams Conservatorium bij Godelieve Schrama. Dat jaar won ze tevens de Prix d' Harmonie in Rotterdam. Dankzij een beurs van het Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds en het Fonds voor de Amateur- en Podiumkunsten vervolgde ze haar opleiding bij Germaine Lorenzini in Lyon (Frankrijk).
Ekaterina startte in 2003 haar twee studie; zij studeerde zang aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag en harp aan de Conservatoria van Enschede, Detmold (Duitsland) en Rotterdam. Voor beide behaalde zij het Master Diploma. Haar docenten waren o.a. Barbara Pearson, Maria Acda, Diane Forlano en Rita Dams(zang) en Germaine Lorenzini, Godelieve Schrama, Catherine Michel en Alex Bonnet (harp). Ekaterina Levental was born in Tashkent, the capital city of Uzbekistan, one of the republics of the former Soviet Union. At the age of six she was admitted to a school for talented children where she was taught piano and harp. Ekaterina moved to Holland in 1993 where she continued her studies on the harp at the Conservatory in Enschede, studying with Alex Bonnet. During her studies she took several Master classes and courses in Holland and abroad with memorable names such as Isabelle Moretti, Susanna Mildonian and Elisabeth Fontain-Binoche. In 1996 and 1997 she was a winner both at the concourse Stichting Jong Muziektalent Nederland-a competition for young musical talent in Holland- and the second edition of the Dutch Concourse for Harp.
In 1998 Ekaterina graduated from her first phase studies at the Conservatory in Enschede. In the summer of 1999 she was admitted to the postgraduate studies at the Hochschule fur Musik in Detmold, Germany, where she studied with Catherine Michel. In 1999 Ekaterina was a winner at the Meester/Gezel-concourse in Haaksbergen. Here Ekaterina also performed as a singer, accompanying herself on the harp. As a soloist Ekaterina performed in renowned Dutch concerthalls and theatres such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Muziekcentrum Vredenburg in Utrecht, De Doelen in Rotterdam, De Oosterpoort Groningen, the Muziekcentrum in Enschede and Muziekcentrum Frits Philips in Eindhoven. Ekaterina got her masterdegree -second phase- as a harpist at the Conservatory in Rotterdam, June 2001, studying with Godelieve Schrama. In the same year she won the Prix d Harmonie in Rotterdam. Due to a scholarship granted her by thePrins Bernhard Cultuurfonds and the Fonds voor Podium- en Amateurkunsten she continues study with Germaine Lorenzini in France. Ekaterina participates in chambermusic ensembles such as the Valerius Ensemble and the Trancenturia Ensemble. As a harpist, singer and actress she has also worked with a theatre for children called Sonnevanck on Hansel und Gratel, directed by Flora Verbrugge, musical score by Gerard Beljon.
She features in the new production of the well-known theatre-director Jan Fabre L Histoire des larmes, which had its first performance at the famous 49th festival of Avignon, France.
Ekaterina plays a Salvi harp, which was granted her by the Nationaal Muziekinstrumenten Fonds through a donation of the Stichting Levi Lassen.
Ekaterina Levental studied singing at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, she obtaines her masters degree in 2009..
